Massive update of Dark Area games

All versions of Dark Area (lite, 1, 2 and 3) have been updated to the Android market, and add the following enhancements:
- Download system is more robust using mirrored resources.
- Less storage is needed with better file compression.

Dark Area Extended

Some weeks ago, Dark Area was removed from the Apple Store.
We renamed it to Dark Area Extended .
This new version fix control problems, enhance the enemies AI, enhance the UI, add graphic quality option and optimize the rendering.
Two applications are now available, the full version and a new free lite version that include the first level.
The website was also refreshed.

Development news

Arkham Development is currently working actively on Antiryad Gx v1.9, the next generation of 3d game engine.
Our customers already develop with it, but this version is planned to be released to public in September 2009.
One commercial game using Antiryad Gx v1.8 is currently in development, and five other using Antiryad Gx v1.9.
Antiryad Gx v1.9 will come with lots of improvement, new platform support, API simplifications and important optimizations. It will be 2x faster than v1.8, and will become one of the fastest existing 3d engine.
Arkham Development have also introduced new services to customers, including support, consulting, formations, access to preview softwares.

Antiryad Gx v1.8 released

After one year of the first release of the v1.7, here is a new major version v1.8 of Antiryad Gx.
It provide lots of improvements, impressive optimizations and support new platforms.
Antiryad Gx v1.8 is about 5x faster than previous version.
Antiryad Gx is a freeware, and the license still allow to create commercial application without any cost (read carrefully the license file for more informations).

Antiryad Gx on Playstation 3

Since Antiryad Gx v1.5 released the 2006/05/21, the engine support the Linux PowerPC platform, compiled on a Mac G4 PowerPC system.
Because the new Playstation 3 system allow to install external operating system, and because the PS3 is based on Cell processor, a PowerPC based processor, Antiryad Gx run on PS3 under a Linux environment.

DOS demos goes Open Sources

The old Arkham Demo Group tools and demos are now open source (BSD template license).
Theses source code is the result of some years of hard work, and include the following:

- The Master Tracker sound program for DOS.

Antiryad Gx v1.5 development new

Here is the current status of the development of Antiryad Gx v1.5.
- The 3d engine have been reorganized and optimized.
- The accelerated multi-cores and multi-processors 3d display manager is now finished. Next step will be thread accelerations for collisions, lightning and realtime shadows.
- A new high level network engine have been added (not yet tested).
- We are currently modifing the Antiryad interface (winbox) to have a new beautifull cross platform window manager.
- The axaconv and objconv object have been merged into a new unified converter3d object, supporting now the Maya RTG file format.

Antiryad Gx v1.5 development started

Antiryad Gx v1.5 development started since few days.
This future version of Antiryad Gx is planned to integrate the following main enhancement:
- Multicore and multiprocessors: Upcomming generation of computers and games consoles are now able to execute several threads at the same time with new IBM Power(PC) G5, AMD Athlon and Intel Pentium processors found on Pc, Mac, Xbox360 and future PS3. The clean architechture of Antiryad Gx will permit to use fully programs in parallel with threads. We have started to enhance the engine for multiples threads, and the renderer has been allready succefully ported with parallel processings. In few - DirectX10: We have also started to convert the engine to the upcomming DirectX10 API. Antiryad Gx v1.5 will integrate fully this new rendering library, and use the Shader Model 4, including the new Geometry Shader. Of course, all other rendering API like OpenGl, Glide3x, DirectX9, DirectX8, DirectX5, and Software rendering will continue to be supported.
- Optimization: Antiryad Gx will continue to be optimized with and without multicore processors, to have an impressive real time 3d engine.
- RTG file format: Antiryad Gx v1.5 will integrate a new RTG file importer to support the Maya modeler.

Antiryad Gx v1.4.07 released

Antiryad Gx v1.4.02 released

This new stable version fixes important bugs in Gel BASIC language, and is recommended for all users.
The Windows GUI version was broken in last version, and is now available again.
The automat (Basic AI) have also been updated.

Antiryad Gx v1.4.01 released

This is the first update of Antiryad Gx v1.4.
The installer have been updated to be able to uninstall completly the application.
Minor bugs have been fixed, a new simplesoldier BASIC module have been added, the Gel BASIC compiler now produce more optimized code, and the automat (basic IA) object have been enhanced.

Antiryad Gx v1.4 released

Antiryad Gx v1.4 is now available.
Antiryad Gx is both a tool for games creation and a multi platforms 3d engine.
This new version support the shader model 2, and new bump mapping shaders have been added, but older fixed function graphic cards are still supported.
News high level instructions have been added in the embedded BASIC language.
Display and shadows optimizations have been done, the project manager in levels editor have been enhanced and the multiprocessors systems are more supported.
More than 2900 commands are availables, and documentation currently consist of 2800 pages.
This new version of Antiryad Gx and the development libraries for Dos, AmigaOs, MacOsX, Linux and Windows are downloadable on the http://www.arkham-development.com/ website.
Also thank to Biro for the new Antiryad Gx logo.
